FF
Tactics RPG Homepage How
goes the handbook? This
is the homepage of the Final Fantasy Tactics Tabletop RPG Project. The goal
of said project being to create a miniurature-based tabletop game utilizing
a modified version of the Final Fantasy Tactics combat engine. There have been
some attempts, most notably the FFTRealm
RPG, but still all attempts are incomplete. This version already has a completed
class tree, a mostly-solid combat system and a full bestiary and only awaits
the formal formatting of the ruleset. While based heavily off of the original Final Fantasy Tactics for the Playstation, we use an entirely redone Job chart, and the archaic system has recieved a major overhaul. We also incorporate races into the system, something new. We aren't, however, merely tacking on stuff from Final Fantasy Tactics Advance, and let me make that absolutely clear. FF Tactics Advance was so radically different that it was essentially another game altogether. The racial system of FFTA is far too restrictive, and our racial system is more similar to Dungeons and Dragons's system - the base classes and most of the extra stuff is open for all races, save for one or two rare cases like one special class for Elves or something. Our system is similar; there are the base Jobs most characters can use, special jobs for characters who fill out their job sheets with tons of stuff, and ONE racial job for each race. So yes, you can be a Human Assassin. Or a Moogle one. Many jobs and many job elements have been brought over from FF Tactics Advance - mainly, the ones that were improvements. These new elements incorporated into our system include real, actualized and useful Archer skillset, a Dragoon skillset that has more than just "Jump", and so on, as well as new classes like Gladiator or Animist. Some of the "wacked out" classes like the Juggler were axed, as we are going for a more mature feel than the considerably lighthearted bubblegum-tactician feel of FFTA. We also have included jobs from the original FFT that were unavailible for the common character, like Dark Knight, and reworked on our own jobs that required tweaking, like the Bard. We've even invented a few new jobs, like the Astronomer and Hunter-Seeker, because we can. Rest assured that we are working to ensure that all jobs are balanced.
